Well, for starters they are not a "talent agency" and even if they were (which they are not) being a "top talent agency" is subjective.
So let's start with what they actually are first which is a management company for talent. Yes, they have a good reputation and have been around a long time. As far as managers go, you could do a lot worse. Nouveaux is one of the better ones with a long established good reputation and solid relationships with agents.
If you are looking for a "Top Talent Agency" then it depends on who you are asking and what you are looking for. I can name 5 or 6 off the top of my head that I would consider to be the "top" for film & TV and a different 5 or 6 for commercials but others might have a completely different list. The "best" agency in the world isn't worth much if they arent sending your kid out. So again, it's all subjective.
Think of it this way. The passengers on the Titanic probably thought they were on the "best" ship in the world and if you were in first class, that may have been true...you probably got on a life boat and survived. But if you were sailing in 5th class...it probably didnt seem like such a great ship after all. The same is true with agencies and managers. You can be with the "top" agency in the world but if you are relegated to their D list within that agency then it isn't going to do much for you. Here's another example: You may be riding as a passenger in a Rolls Royce or Maybach and think you are sitting in the best, "top" car in the world. But if you happen to look over and realize there is a monkey driving your car at 60 mph...it may not seem like the best car in the world afterall. I'd rather be in a Hyundai with a great driver who knows how to get me to my destination alive....even if it takes a while. So it all depends on whose driving your car. In the end, find an agent or manager that is excited about repping you and do your homework as to what types of people they represent and how successful they have been.

Wow! Actorsmommy, that was pretty cool! I have a question for you also. My ds is going to be 2 soon. He is currently represented by Product and we have a great relationship.
I am very interested in commerical/film/tv for him. Product doesnt have that division. How does that work. Would I talk to Product and let them know what I am thinking. Being that he is only 2, is it too early for commerical/film/tv? I have heard of CESD (I think that is it) and Funny Faces. Can you recommend some other agencies to look into for commerical/film/tv?
Sorry if this is already posted on the board? Any insight would be greatly appreciated by anyone!!!
