Has anyone been to the shoot for Toys R Us? I know they have been shooting this for about 2 weeks now and I'm kind of curious. I was there today with dd and they seemed to move right along - we were in/out dressed/make up/photo shoot within 1 hour - is that the norm? Also I noticed the sheet that had the kids/agenices listed they also had some abbreviations - (aa near some names or c near the other) does any veterans know what that means?

Toys R Us is currently shooting their Big Book for Christmas. Yes, they are usually very organized and you're in and out in an hour. AA is African American and C is Caucasian.

LOL how stupid do I feel- it was so obvious - can't believe I asked such a stupid question. I guess it stems from one child being the "primary" so I guess I was reading more into it - LOL

yes, they are great, and they move right along. get the shot they need and then on to the next thing. perfect way to proceed when you are dealing with little ones. I have more than one child so we have worked with them several times over the years and they have always been that way. for this big book shot ds has shot twice-once the last week of june and once the week after. they were wonderful to us.

Now today we were back again doing another shoot and I saw c next to dd name and a next to the other girls name - I now know the a means Asian - lol. Next questions does anyone know what an * next to the name could possibly mean?

I'm not 100% sure, but the * might be for the primary. Was the star next to the child's name that shot first? TRU usually always prints the child the shoots first.

Let's see today they were shooting the 2 asians and 2 caucasians the asian girl with the * did shoot first but the caucasian with the * shot second. As for the other day it was all messed up because one of the models came very late, messed up their schedule, which they were not very happy with!

you can drive yourself crazy overanalyzing this. (believe me I have driven myself nuts more than afew times so i know how you feel Wink) Both my son and daughter have shot second and made it to print, another time my son shot first and did not made it. Lots of factors apply, and in the end, it's about which pic showcases the toy best. With that said, I do hope your child makes it into the big book! Good luck and have fun.

To be honest with you - I'm happy just seeing my daughter glow as she gets her hair/make up done - that alone makes her day. As long as she is happy with that, then I am happy. If she happens to make it to print great, if not she had fun doing the shoot. I was asking more out of curiosity.

I have also been to a shoot where I overhead a mother tell the photographer they weren't signed with an agent, a friend of theirs works for the marketing department!!! Guess which kid made the print?

so...in otherwords we all are going to be anxiously awaiting the Big Book holding our breath looking to see if our kid made it to print or not??? Wow, we're all going to be doing this at the same time??? That's something...

Also, my ds booked the Big Book and was on hold and dropped a week or so later, is there a possibility he will be considered again, or probably not since there are more kids being booked since? TRU does request kids again sometimes right?
