I just joined backstage and have gone through the casting but dont see the Southpole, La Redoute, etc that you guys are talking about. Am I blind or out of the loop??

I have a 6 yo son with a bit of experience but no agent. We just moved to the East Coast from Seattle. He has done 1 magazine, 1 commercial and 2 music videos both on MTV. Hoping he can get some work on this coast.

These particular go-sees were directly through agents. Most of the go-sees posted on here by parents are from calls from their agents. Backstage does not post these types of Print jobs ie the recent ones, Toys' R Us, Khols, Southopole, Scholastic, etc. Since your child has some experience in the industry and i'm sure some nice headshots, send his pics to the NY agencies and try to get representation. It's VERY difficult to get any of these jobs without it. If you hit the find button on here, someone listed a bunch of them to include online submissions as well as mail-ins only. Good Luck.

I am willing to travel to NY for work. I dont see much here in the VA/DC area. My best option is probably going to be NY Smiler

Your willing to travel to NY?? Just remember the time and expense that people living in NY go thru for these go-sees and not even book jobs, I can't imagine traveling from Virginia?? Most of these go-sees are scheduled from the night before are you willing to drop everything to make the trip for the next day? Not to mention the fact that I don't think alot of agents would even sign u unless you live here in NY/NJ not worth it if you can't always run when they call. Not trying to discourage you just telling the truth. i spend so much just in train fare and tunnel fare and I live here and believe me we don't book every job we go on a go see for, the competition here is fierce!

lizamonique is correct in her post about the expense. I know alot of people come up from Florida and other states and work for the summer so that's an option (some agents work with out of town people). But driving back and forth from VA? that would be rough for you and your child not to mention expensive.
