I went to an interview for stella adlers teen program a couple of days ago. The guy who interviewed me really liked me and said that i was pretty much in. He called me the next day and confirmed that i was accepted to the program. Has anyone every interviewed for or has gone to this program? I was interested in knowing if this is a sort of accomplishment or there acceptance rate and that sort of thing. I was also wondering what you guys thought of the program and the adler technique since i am pretty unclear on all of it. I am excited to attend though.

oh wow. im going to your class as well.

the acceptance rate is not that stunning. iwish i could brag that i got into a top acting school with a low acceptance rate, but life sucks sometimes. HOWEVER. You and I still got into a top acting school with a high acceptance rate, with a fair amount of competition. im from a suburb in new york, you're from new jersey. this is pretty competitive as teen programs go.

i dont have any other friends who went to the school, however one is attending with me this season. her and i are really excited.

I HAVE worked with the adler technique in my theatre class in high school. for me as an actor, its just what i needed. the basic concept is simple but takes a lifetime to master. as an actor i tend to overthink things instead of just doing the character (this is what classes are for), and adler is based on actions. (e.g.: don't think you're "sad". Instead, think "my gf just cheated on me" or "my grandpa just died".)

phew. alot of info.
looking foward to seeing you at the class!

Cool ill see you there! Do you know what the acceptance rate is? I heard that the summer program is really hard to get into. Does that mean the acception rate is really low? Btw my name is Brandon so you will know who I am when we get there. Did he make you guys both go to seperate interviews? Thanks

Well, the summer program is much harder to get into, though you're chances are much bigger if you have taken the weekend program.

Oh ha. Funny story, when I signed up for the class I had no idea my friend was doing it too so we only found out in class about a month ago when I mentioned it.

I'm Simon. Cya at Adler
