i realized Im far too late for this but oh well. I know someone who went there and was taught alot of meisner appaerently. Hes landed a couple things and there and really liked it plus he has stuff for his reel. you get to be in tons of student projects there. However from my researching there are classes at other studios that will provide reel material through the scenes you do in class. If you go, check out their scholarships as they DO exist but most people take out a $20,000 loan for NYFA, not including books or a place to stay.

^^^I agree. I dont believe its all that great of a conservatory plus I gues they dont teach their students how to broaden naturalize and diversify the characters they act out...atleast from what Ive seen.

I've acting with actors from the NYFA... not impressed. Everything they tell me is that it's not a great acting program, and especially not for the prices they charge.
I've never heard of them teaching Meisner... if this is true, then my opinion of them has gone up. Slightly.

^^^Not surprised. They attract people bc its film acting not because it teaches ACTING. Real acting transends stage and screen! I used to want to go there. But now Im glad I didnt considering what I see and i find its not really that much on on a resume. And there was NO housing.

I agree if you want to learn Film Production/Directing or Screenwritting they are top tier so I have heard. But if you want to learn acting you can find a way better class that isnt a conservatory... if your looking for meisner William Esper has a 2 year program I think. He is one of the few teachers who was tought by Sandy himself and he was the head instructor at the neighborbood playhouse for years before opeining his own studio.
