Hi.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good weekend acting technique level 1/beginner class?

My schedule is already a bit full with Scene Study on mon, screenwriting on tue, and Improv on wed. I work days (for now) during the week to pay bills, student loans, etc. and have been searching high and low to no avail.

PS: No Playhouse West recs please. Big Grin

I've heard good things about Rob Mello. He teaches a Meisner-based class on Saturdays for beginners and people looking to "start over." I can look up his info if you're interested.

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about Playhouse West?

You should not even be attempting scene study without technique FIRST. Technique is the first level of the foundation. That said, Stella Adler meets on Monday and Wednesday and Tuesday and Thursday. They are truly excellent and dedicated to the craft, not the money....

Thanks. I had already studied the Robert Lewis technique for a while when I made the post. I was looking for something different. For example, Meisner/Adler/Hagen/Method(Strasberg.

I want to start from the beginning -- not drop into a class that's been going on forever...that's not helpful in learning a new technique properly.

Unfortunatly, classes at Stella Adler start at 6 p.m. and I get off at work at that time. So no go.
