Taking risks in your acting? Making bold, daring, controversial moves in a scene?

What's your definition and if you have any cool anecdotes, that'd be cool to let all of us know. :-)

I think for me taking risks in my acting has nothing to do with making crazy unconventional choices with the scene. It's more about getting to the point where I'm so involved in the characters problems, desires, thoughts feelings or whatever that I don't know what im gonna do next or how the words are going to come out of my mouth.

I feel that's what people mean by taking risks. You might have this great plan and all these cool things you mapped out, but when you get to the actual doing you throw caution to the wind and deal with each moment and see where it takes you. Go somewhere in the work where you didn't expect to go.
