1:43-2:05. Could someone explain this to me?

I got most of it now, but I don't understand everything. Please translate this to English please. :-) Thanks!

Thanks

It sounds like Downey broke down simply his technique on how he translated his Ally McBeal character.

He took every line he was to say, used the first initial of each sentence he had to say, and ingrained it into his memory so he would be able to spout 'truthfully' what he was saying by not having to worry about tripping over his words and breaking character.

Does this answer your question?

P
Sounds to me that Mr. D writes the lines out in longhand, then writes only the first letter of each word:

Every good boy does fine = egbdf

and feels like he is ready to work, when the lines come to mind, just by looking at the acronym, egbdf.

WoW!

Wow, his memorization technique seems really overcomplicated to me. But he's a great actor, so I guess it works for him.

His brain works differently, he gets bored easily and challenges himself this way. If it works for him, it works for him, not necessarily for the rest of us. *smile*

And yes, he's an incredible actor. One of the best.

I did a scene with the guy today, at a table read for an upcoming comedy feature, and he was funny as hell. No memorizing involved, as it was a table read, but he was very loose and throwing his own lines in. He is a brilliant actor, no doubt.
