Dear Secret Agent Man,

I am born and raise in Paris and by a matter of fact, talk in english with an accent. I am searching for managers or agents for theatrical that work with foreign actors. I found Joel Kleinman from Baier Kleinman international (http://pro.imdb.com/name/nm0724833/agent)
and not many more. I found some specialized for eastern euro. If you have any suggestion...

Thank you for reading me.

I know Joel. He's a good guy. The truth is that most agents don't specialize - especially when it comes to film and television. We make money by serving the needs of the marketplace. That means representing all kinds of actors so we can submit them for all kinds of roles.

But here's the thing - every agency has some foreign actors on their client list. So don't feel you should only target the few agents who specialize. You should target everyone.

BUT...

No one will be interested in you if you don't have a green card or an O-1 Visa. If you can't legally work in this country, then there's no reason to take you on as a client.

Good luck. I hope this helps.

How are you still a foreign actor ? you are here, you got green card, you got SAG eligibilty.. are you just an actor.

so you go forth just like any other actor here.

Clearly "mistletoe" (gui) is concerned with having imperfect English and an accent. So it's perfectly reasonable for them to identify themselves (if a little pre-emptively) as a "foreign" actor. Not to mention that that can be as much a sales point (i.e., type) as anything else.

There used to be an organization called "Hollywood Association of French Actors" (HAFA), though I looked for it recently and found no sign of it on-line. Worth checking out if it's still around.

I guess if you ONLY speak english in a french accent, and cant do otherwise, then you should make it known. like put it on your resume.
