Can anyone tell me what is the right way to go about breaking a manger contract? I heard that if the manager has not gotten you work in 6 months you can stop your contract.
I have been with my manager for almost 7 months and she hasn't sent me out on any auditions yet or hasn't even trieed to help me further my career in anyway. When I try emailing she doesn't respond and when I call she is practically rushing me off the phone. I am sick of wasting my time and am not happy with a manager like this.
When breaking the contract will I have to go to an attorney or is there another way to do this?
Thanks!

You're talking about the standard clause that used to be in SAG agent contracts. You really need to read what your contract with your manager says in terms of ending it. There may or may not be an early way out. What is the term of the contract?

The manager may be willing to release you even if there isn't an out clause. Some don't want to manage you if you don't want to be with them, and if there isn't any money at stake it is easier.
