I am a young looking 23 year old who took some time away from acting but recently found the love again. I was represented when i was 13 but never booked..at that age i was not taking it seriously. I have relatively large theatre under my belt and small student films and the likes. Also attending IO West and plan on going to groundlings very soon. I am 23 to probably play 16-20 on screen. I'm now looking at trying for some representation again..one thing i am worried about is i still have my acne scarring from when i had it not to long ago. I know make up can go along way ..but still..could be a factor in an agents final decision. I'm in the process of getting derm abrasion ...other than that I'm ready to go. I have a good acting background and i would love to be represented by one of these good start off Agencies.
Still reading?? Hopefully
Now that i got all the background out of the way ..a couple of questions..1. I'm looking in this months Keith Wolfe The right agent book and looking at the special needs and a dozen or more fit me. To give you an idea..I'm a comic character actor tall white and slightly nerdy but hip and groovy at the same time :P I'm a little nervous about the scarring on the face but its not noticeable to many people but my self..but either way ..im only a few months away from having that taken care of ..an honestly maybe i will wait until i do take care of that ..either way i want to start thinking of the proper steps to take..what might be some good places to start agent wise?..2. Do you generally address each agent in the cover letter specific to them and their needs or simply put there name in the header? 3. My friend is with Danial Hoff and does some good work for him..is it good to reference the friend or maybe have the friend reference me? My other friend is with Endeavor .but im non union so im not going to try and climb that Mt. Everest quite yet. Many many other questions ..but ill let the masses of the repliers ask any addition questions..thank you so much for your time and reading this NOVEL!! haha..thanks again fellow thesps!

Whew, that was a long post. In response, let me say that there are lots of posts addressing these issues so you might try a search. AND I suggest you pick up Tony Martinez's book "An Agent Tells All" for some tips....too many questions here to attack all at once, but the book will get you started.
