Does anyone have any experience with Kiddin' Around agency? I sent in pics of my daughter and met with them and they like her. They want us to take a parent class for $115. Are they a scam or are they a legit agency? Please help!

Legit agencies don't charge fees--so there ya have it.

I've never heard of this agency, but normally having them tell you to pay for anything is a huge red flag....

suggesting you get new headshots or something is one thing, but if its a service they require you to pay for, like a class they host, its most likely not legit.

If you're looking for legit agencies, the best thing to do is to search Ross Reports for their contact information.

I saw your post on Backstage. We were with Kiddin' Around for only one year. They're not a scam, as our child did get auditions and bookings. However, we did feel like there was something shady going on, as they charge $115 for the parent seminar (red flag) with the promise of Eva's book. What we got was a binder with photocopied pages in it. They also request that you use their photographer, but the catch is that you pay his fee through the agency (another red flag). Also, Eva is not very easy to get in touch with, and when you do get her on the phone or in person, she acts as if you're wasting her time asking questions. It was very difficult being so new to the industry. We had a lot of questions, and it was hard to ask anything. Our new agent is night and day from Kiddin' Around. They gave a free parent seminar with WAY more information presented in a clearer fashion, and it was given by the owner/agent of the agency, not by one of the actors, like the one at Kiddin' Around.

Sounds exactly like the same thing we are going through. We paid for the parent class already and did attend. My daughter is 13 months old. Do you have any suggestions of a "better" agency for someone her age?

Have you submitted to Atlanta's Young Faces.
Several years ago they were considered one
of the ATL's better agencies for kids & teens.
Google them and see what you come up with.
Good luck.

There are a couple of really good agencies here in ATL.

JPurvis Talent-This agency is owned by the daugher-in-law of Joy Purvis, one of the hottest agents on the east coast.

Coastal Kids
Hot Shot Kids

You can also go to this other website to find out anything you want to know about what going on mainly on the east coast regarding acting. It's a message board like this one except, everyone is in ATL, NC, SC, FL and so on.
Check it out.

Thank you for this posting! My daughter was also a call back, but I didn't like the fact of them asking $115 first and then telling me what and how everything works within the agency.
Would you be so kind and disclose the name of the other agency you are so happy about? Because I'm very tired of being scammed.
Thank you!
