Thank you for this column. Could you kindly elaborate a bit on the "changed rules" you mentioned regarding the transition from SAG franchised to GSA agreements? I understand the Big 5 and many of the second tier agencies have abandoned the standard SAG contracts. I am signed with a smaller office that is still franchised. Why and how did these agents "walk away?"

Also, is this another indication of the weakening of SAG? As a member, I am being forced to pick sides in some very ugly infighting at the moment. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated as well.
