Ok I want my cover resume and headshot to stand out from the rest. I was told that a good cover letter with personality helps. I want an good maybe funny eye catching opening line please help. What do you think:

~"I’m determined to make it. I’ll bend over backwards (not forwards) for a part! I promise to thank you during my Academy Award speech. So let’s do this!"

~I'm young, no one can ever correctly guess my nationality, and I'm a born and raised New Yorker who can take the punches and laugh it off. So, let's do this!

~Born and raised New Yorker, fresh with a face that many cultures would claim. Resilient, assertive and talented, Let's do this thing!

Suggestions?

To be honest, none of these lines are remotely interesting. We've heard them all before.

Yes, you should inject a little personality into your cover letter but ultimately, it's all about the picture and resume. (And a referral never hurts!)

I agree with SAM- Hey Broadway didn't you already post this question in the "New Actors Only" column already? Are you trying to trick us actors into thinking we wouldn't recognize that this is the same question as b4 just under a different topic? Shame on you! lol !!!

SAM, I prefer to get right to the meat'n potatoes and try not to "Fluff" the CD. This is how my coverletter starts off....

UPDATE: 2/21/08 WORLD PREMIER AT LA CENTER STUDIOS-TV PILOT: “GHOST TOWN” BY SUNNY BOY ENTERTAINMENT (LEAD RECURRING/ROLE: DOC CASH, Think “Ghost Busters” but the ghost hunters are three 12 yr olds and I’m their mentor-guide to defeating the ghosts!

To view a scene from the show follow the link and click on the “Better Off Dead” picture:

I also give the sign in and pw for access. So I let some of my body of work lead the charge. You can put a lot of "Fill" in your resume and a picture may be worth a thousand words...but film don't lie.

Do they like/use it??? Welllll, some will...some won't...so what? It seems to get me a lot of response and a lot of work. What do you think??

Oh yea, btw, I do add the rest of the obligatory personal/history and other info in the rest of the letter also.
