I discovered the website nowcasting.com, we have to pay a fee to access the casting call. Is it very serious and I can submit myself to audition and is it updated every day. Is it an access to the breakdowns that receive the agents?

I am interested to hear your point of view and your experiences with nowcasting.com before to pay the fee.

Does it worth it?

Thank you very much for reading me.

You know what and this is just my belief (but we'll see what other's have to say) but I say if your not already with actorsacess, and NYcasting. Just join it and don't worry about the rest. Truly ! Because most of these other sites have the same castings for the most part. Because I had already belong to two others, before me cancelling them. The reason for that was I saw the same auditions, etc on actors, and NYC. But if you want to try it for yourself to see. Go ahead but let us know if they offer something different.

you are not entitled to see the breakdowns, they are not for you and no site will offer it to you.

sites offering direct to actor casting info, offers low down horrible stuff like no-pay nude work. or nonunion extra work.. that sort of stuff.

I actually got called in to audition, and callbacks for a primetime NBC show, a primetime ABC show, and 90210 on the CW when they sent out breakdowns to actors on actorsaccess.

The sites DO have legit things, but they do consist mainly of non-union postings. If you keep your eye out though, you can see the real breakdowns that get through once in a while.

Bexter, maybe I'm misreading your post....are you suggesting that non-union jobs are not 'real' ?

Most of the work that's up here is non-union. There are a few, union ones. But that's like a needle in a haystack. And if they are union, you sometimes get less than the non-union ones (paid).

SAGAFTRAAEA is incorrect about Now Casting.

Sites like Actors Access and Now Casting do, in fact, have union breakdowns. I've had several auditions from Actors Access...none from Now Casting.

I would say though both have around 85% non-union work. I wouldnt rely on it for union work... but it is something good to have.

Here's an aside: A friend of mine booked a non-union pilot from Actors Access. Once it was shot, it was picked up and went union.

Getting back to Gui's original question, nowcasting.com is a good site. As a director, my staff and I use it a lot. I don't know the statistics, but if you are listed on one or more of these sites, you'll see a huge majority of the legitimate (mostly non-union) jobs: nowcasting, backstage.com, LAcasting, NYcasting, Actors Access.

I am a fan of Now Casting, I like it better then the other casting sites. For ten bucks a month, it's well worth it.

I am on iActor, but have never benefited from it at all.

My experience:
The top 2 are LA/NY Casting and Actorsaccess.

Though both do sometimes have the same postings, L.A./NY Casting seems better for getting commercial work whereas Actorsaccess.com seems better for theatrical work.

Nowcasting is good but not quite up there with the two that I mentioned, but does have stuff that I don't see on LA/NY Casting and Actorsaccess.
