I am an actress with no representation who just booked a co-star on a network TV show. It was a multiple day shoot and while I only have seven lines, I'll be seen throughout this episode alongside a well known actor.

I managed to get this job without an agent (casting workshops) and I'm just wondering whether or not this will be enough to get me in any doors. I've done some indie films and tons of theatre (I came from NY) but I know in the film and TV world that doesn't really matter. Is one booking enough to get agents to take a second look? Or should I just keep my focus on meeting casting people and let the agent thing happen on its own. I'd love your advice.

First of all, congrats on the booking. I think that's great news. And I'm especially happy to hear that you did it on your own. This kind of proactive behavior really turns me on.

As for your question, I think you already know the answer. Keep doing exactly what you're doing. Try to book one or two more. That will give your resume enough substance to attract an agent. And you'll also have the start of a good reel.

Also, by that point, you should have enough casting fans that you might consider asking one of them to make a call on your behalf.

You're off to a good start.

Good luck!

Cool
