Hello all --

I have a meeting about theatrical rep with AJ Laprise at Almond Talent on Monday, and I'm wondering if any of you out there have had any experience with them. I'd appreicate hearing good/bad/anything. Thanks so much!

Hi BeeCee, I am represented by Almond Talent. I signed with them in January and I've been on 3 or 4 auditions so far. They're really new and they started up in June 2007, but they're really hard working and it is great agency to grow with. They are working on getting sag franchised. Let me know how your meeting goes : )

Thanks, Caliguy! The meeting with AJ went well, and he wants me to move on to the next step which is to meet Aril'an and do a theatrical read. I did get the vibe that they are very committed, sincere, and hardworking. I'm interested to meet Aril'an, as he seems to be the head agent over there. AJ did tell me that right now, they are working on getting their ATA agreement, not SAG franchised. Yes, they are new...but I agree that they seem very hardworking. I think I'd rather have that behind me than be just number at a larger agency. Thanks again, Caliguy.

Hi- Almond is the best agency I have been with. They are totally hard working, and very personable. They are very new- but pay close attention to all of their clients.

I agree, definetely a great agency to grow with. As far as the caliber of the auditions they keep working (which I love)... But I've never been inside the actual agency.. Have You?

Don't worry about them not being SAG franchised. That's been a non-issue for over five years now. None of the major agencies are franchised with SAG anymore.

Ok.. so I was thinking.. Why wouldn't it matter if it was SAG franchised or not. Can't they screw you over with pay and all?
