Here's the thing. I'm not a commercial agent but I've been told there's a lot of high paying non-union work in the commercial world. So you might want to hold off for that reason. The truth is there's really no reason for you to join till you're offered another SAG job. Also, as an agent, I have no objection to you putting SAG on your resume instead of SAG Eligible, especially when you're pursuing film and television work (or representation). That's a not a lie because for all intensive purposes, you really are a SAG member, you just haven't paid your fee yet.
