I become SAG eligible around October of 2007, but have yet to join. Not that my current financial situation would warrant such a luxury, but it was suggested around that time that I remain Non-Union and hold my eligible status for as long as possible until it became absolutely necessary I join.

Does that sound right? Now that I've recently moved to NYC, would it make me appear more reputable if I WERE a member?

Thanks! Smiler

Here's the thing. I'm not a commercial agent but I've been told there's a lot of high paying non-union work in the commercial world. So you might want to hold off for that reason. The truth is there's really no reason for you to join till you're offered another SAG job.

Also, as an agent, I have no objection to you putting SAG on your resume instead of SAG Eligible, especially when you're pursuing film and television work (or representation). That's a not a lie because for all intensive purposes, you really are a SAG member, you just haven't paid your fee yet.
