I should have included this in my CATZ question. NOW CASTING Is it worth upgrading to one of the paying subscriptions to get auditions for paying Union work? Thanks

Meh....but I'll tell you what I do like about Now Casting's upgraded service. Their casting database is very up to date and very efficient.

Once again, Nowcasting is a waste if you're Union. Non union-wise, there are a lot of student film projects, but it's usually bottom rung, non-grad type projects.

I booked two pretty decent projects through Now Casting which is amazing because there have only been a few things I submitted on over 3 years or so. The most recent was a high budget web project produced by a well known feature film production company. The other was a paid short that a name director put together as a "pet project". Chapman also uses Now Casting for a bunch of their projects. But, as TT says most of their stuff is crap. You will see the occasional Criminal Minds, Soap, and Hollywood Heights roles posted there. I'm not sure if the CD's actually see those submissions. Maybe April Webster is getting a kickback on subscription fees for allowing her breakdowns to be posted there. I've never met anybody who actually got called into her office based on a Now Casting submission.

even on actors access we dont get the good breakdowns. Only agents do. sure there will be and under 5 every once in awhile but then the cd will get 10,000 submissions on it.
