This is another post, the last one was a poll.
Sorry!

Hi, I sent my headshot&resume to Abrams Artists Agency about two weeks ago. They recently called me back and want me to come in for an appoitment/interview. I'm not sure what to expect. Will I be asked to sign with them that day? Does anyone have any idea as to what to expect? Thanks so much!

Which department?

Depending on agency, different departments do not necessarily work together.

I'm snarky.

I believe it is the youth division.
The commercial department.
It's lead by Bonnie S.

Bonnie is the head of the youth commercial dept. You should expect to be given some copy to read.

Oh Okay.
They said I might be given a script to read.
Does she sign with her clients/interviewers the first day?

They may offer you a contract...I would think they'll offer to represent you without a contact (freelance) until you book something major. Either way, congrats, break a leg & let us know how you make out.

They may let you know that day whether they are interested or they may call you a few days later and let you know. Best of luck!

I have a couple more questions.
Thank you all for helping me!

- Does Abrams require/ask you to get new headshots if they represent you?

- What is their commision for commercial work?(10%,15%,20%)

If you currently have headshots that they like, you should not be required to get new headshots. I am sure that they will discuss this if they decide to work with you. I think that their cut will be 10%.

nycactorpw- Congrats! Good for you! Are you union or non-union and may I ask your age? I have held off submitting my dd because she is non-union, 17 and I thought there would be no chance. Please give me hope!
Thanks!

We also had a callback to Abrams as one of five agencies wanting my daughter; they were very quick and we needed to learn a script in less than three minutes (memorized).
