"I Know My Kid's A Star"... they had the season finale tonight. Not sure if you watched the show at all, but I would love to hear your opinion on this type of thing as an agent.

These are my feelings as an agent and as a human being:

You couldn't pay me enough to watch this kind of garbage. This business is hard enough on kid actors without having to put them under this type of pressure. And shame on the parents. Why would they put their children through this kind of inane competition??? Can you imagine what it feels like to be eliminated at that age? The rejection must feel awful!

Some people should not be allowed to breed.

To me, this show is pure exploitation with a desperate host that will do anything to stay in the spot light.

I feel the same way but, unfortunately, I couldn't help but watch this trainwreck of a show.

I felt so bad for the one girl, Hayley, with the totally insane mother. The mother kept telling her to remember they're trying to get a "dream house". What kind of lunatic puts that kind of pressure on a 'tween??? (I think Hayley was about 10)

I also felt bad for Ailia, whose mother Gigi, was a maniac and constantly looking to physically fight the other women or argue or whatever and never had a good word for her daughter.

I could go on and on but those who watched the show know.

Now, what do you think of shows like this for adults (ie: American Idol, Grease, and the upcoming "legally blonde: the search for the new elle woods"?

I'm not a big fan of reality tv but I would be a liar if I didn't admit that I'm seriously addicted to American Idol and Hell's Kitchen. Damn, those are fun shows!

Like anything in life, there's good reality tv and there's bad reality tv. My issue with the program you mentioned is that I feel they're taking advantage of children who are being placed in a dangerous situation by parents who don't understand the possible consequences of their actions.

I know those shows probably do 100% more damage to a kid's career than they could ever help, but what about the adults? Do you really think these shows help them? For example, most people on "reality shows" are aspiring actors --- do you think this would help their career? Or be looked down upon since reality TV has been seeming to take over the airwaves in the past 5 years or so and has been taking work away from legitimate actors (in other words, reality tv is replacing regular tv shows)

I'm NOT an actor and don't want to be one, but I'm just curious about your take on it.
