Some of you probably already heard about how the AMPTP is trying to screw the writers again but I'm going to recap for those who haven't.
The WGA has had to file for arbitration against the big media moguls less than a year after their strike ended. Why? The AMPTP has not complied with the terms of the contract. They are not making new media payment to writers. Also, they haven't paid the agreed upon residuals for the on-line streaming of television shows.
These are the kind of people that SAG is up against. They're all greedy bastards who don't give a damn about the creative community. If they're doing this to the WGA now, can you imagine what they'll do to your union if you don't give them a yes vote?
WGA president Patric Verrone made the following statement - "The companies know what is being streamed, and they regularly announce how successful they are in generating on-line advertising revenue, so there's no reason for them not to honor the agreement they made with us."
The key word there is "honor". The AMPTP clearly has none.
And on that happy note, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you. Be safe and happy. I'll be off-line till Monday. See you all then.

HEAR HEAR. Greedy bastards is my sentiment EXACTLY. It's corporate greed and evil at its finest and they will cheerfully screw all they can if given the chance. I don't need to see exactly what the offer is to know that it is a shitty one. Have people learned NOTHING from the WGA strike? We must FIGHT!!!!!! These assholes will NEVER do the right thing by us. It would be naive to think otherwise. Happy Thanksgiving all.
