Has anyone ever gotten an agent from LA Casting's Talent Scout. They claim on their website that one out of three actors get agents from that service.....

ONLY commercial agents contact you via this service. GOOD theatrical agents DON'T contact people via this service.

Only a FEW that contact you via LA Casting's Talent Scout are worth it.

They are:
Venture IAB
DPM
Mavrick

awesome, thank you for the info truthteller. Only 3 out of the lot is pretty unfortunate.

other than agents, have people gotten jobs with la casting? I have an actors access account, but I don't have a reel up. I submit everyday, a few times a day, right when the ad comes up and I have not gotten any auditions.

Good question Zoe, I've always wondered this too. I never tried "Talent Scout" because I suspected that what Truth Teller said was the case. Now I know.

And I've had many regular audition from LA Casting, mostly for no pay.

LA Casting is better for commercials. 98% of the major Commercial Casting Directors post on there. When you get a commercial agent, you'll have to join lacasting whether you like it or not.

Also, don't feel flattered when you get something from Michael Scammuck. He sends messages to EVERYONE who joins LACasting.

I'm very disappointed with LA Casting, I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have an agent.

I know some non-agented men that got decent, paying work off it, but not so much for women.

The only two that have contacted me are the infamous MZA (Michael Zanuck Agency) and SFA (Sylvia Ferguson & Associates). Both with pretty bad reps. However, at least Sylvia wanted to audition me that's more than I can say for MZA. I got excited about people contacting me through LA Casting but it finally hit me that the best agents sometimes don't even have time to look at your own personal hardcopy submission... why would they take even more time out of their day and try to find you on LA Casting?

best wishes.

I AGREE w/ all of the above!

ZANUCK is BAD NEWS! They contacted me from LA Casting...along with 400 other people I've talked to. NOT WORTH IT...BAD REP!

I've had EXCELLENT luck w/ LA CASTING though...lots of auditions!

I don't think any actor should expect to be contacted through a website for representation. I wouldn't blame the website; LAcasting is very legit as is Actorsaccess and a few others.

Do the work to find an agent. Mailings, workshops, networking, being seen in something, referrals from CD's and fellow actors.

I wait for no one. I hussle. I think everyone should. Just like life, no guarantees in this business of being paid to play.

I've gotten most of my commercials off of self-submit through LA Casting. Some paid a few hundred bucks, up to one for $2,500. All non-union.

Occasionally get something through Actor's Access, but usually the jobs were also posted on LA Casting.

Never gotten anything worthwhile from Now Casting. Just a couple calls for jobs that seemed like they were going to turn into late night Cinemax skin-flicks.

In LA, you ONLY need 2 sites, LACasting and ActorsAccess. Nowcasting is good for indies and student films for building your reel and resume. Everything else is junk.

I believe you are quite wrong about MZA. My research shows them to be pretty good, according to numerous sources I have quoted here:
