I have a guest star and a couple co-star credits that are super old, like 8 years old plus and none since then mainly because I stopped acting for a few years after that time and also because getting back into acting after a break and no longer a teenager has proved to be , er...difficult. My question is: should I even show these on my resume anymore? I have some film credits that are either indie/shorts/student, etc. but these are my only TV credits and they are all major network, but I'm afraid they are so old it may work against me. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Of course, keep them on. And be proud of them! There's nothing wrong with taking a break and coming back-and it shows you have the ability to book good work.

I agree with LA keep it on, and just put any new projects that you now have up front. The old credits can just rest at the bottom. You never know your old credits can sometimes become a great conversational piece that can work for you. I have a national show that I've done a while back, and when people see it they love to talk about it with me. lol ! If I'm meeting with a CD or an agent @ their office we spend at least 5 to 7 mins on this one show. It has helped me a few times so leave it alone. "IF IT AIN"T BROKE DON'T FIX IT "

Keep them on! You booked those jobs and you earned the right to list them on your resume. Trust me - you're not the first actor to be in this position.

Good luck!

Cool

Hi! You may want to check and see if those jobs make you eligible for any union. I called SAG last year and found out that a guest spot I did on a T.V. show when I was ten made me SAG Eligible (for some reason it wasn't in their main system when I checked online, but when I called they found a record of it in their health care database, or something). If your work was for a mainstream network, you might be in for a nice surprise. Either way, I agree--keep the credits!

Thanks Teastonpink! Thanks to those credits I have been SAG for a while now. Sometimes I wish it hadn't though...trying to build a resume after a break and not being able to tap into the non-union pool has been rough. but that's another thread...

thanks for the tip!
