Who knows anymore? Sometimes you submit and give up and then months later you hear from them. Keep submitting. Your career is up to you.

We've submitted to many different agencies and sometimes we hear back (always send SASE) but it's rare. I think the last batch we sent out, we heard about a month after but only from 2 agencies out of a dozen.

Is "SASE" some version of the phrase "self-addressed envelope"?

There really is no set time.

If they're interested, they could call you as soon as they get it or they could call you months later.

Regarding SASE, Self Addressed Stamped Envelope, I believe. Regarding wait time, forget all about them, enjoy your life, and be pleasantly surprised when/if you hear back.

yes Self Address Stamped Envelope known as SASE
;-) We always include one for agency's preprinted responses but rarely have one returned.

How long should you wait before you move on?
One tenth of one second.

In other words, move on right away. Sending out submissions needs to become a success, a finished step in itself. The result is out of your hands. Waiting for the call will just make you nuts. You need to develop this mentality for auditions too. The audition itself is the finished action. A call back is a success. A booking, well, that's just luck! (yes, yes, of course it's talent and work too, but you get my meaning...)

Jackie--I just love that response! A friend once told us..."an actor's job is to audition...getting cast is a little bonus"

Love it! Lick the stamp and move on. I think the same applies to auditions. Don't wait to hear...as soon as the door shuts, move on.
