My two daughters (5yr old and 7month old) were offered to sign with LA Model and LA Talent. My 5 year old was also asked to meet Diverse. Which one is better?

It depends. Are you talking about commercials or theatrical?

Diverse is an excellent agency with a great office right in Century City. All their agents - theatrical and commercial - do a terrific job. If I remember correctly, they put Josh Holloway on "Lost".

I don't know much about LA Models and LA Talent but maybe someone on the board can share their experiences and knowledge.

Lets not forget, last Spring Jackie Lewis, Debbie Palmer Beal, and Katie Floyd (The folks that ran the youth department at Diverse Talent forever) left to form their own agency, Lewis and Beal, with many of their former clients. They now have over three hundred clients listed on IMDB. It is unknown to me the experience of the agents that replaced Lewis and Beal at Diverse. Maybe somebody could chime in.

Does anyone have a name to c/o address to for DTG? Commercial/theatrical etc? If the above are the actual, can you indicate who charges who?

So, I have a referral to Diverse via a very close industry friend/actor who has a reputable business relationship with Diverse.

My 4 month out clause has not been expired with my current agency, so I"d like to take this opportunity to make use of this referral and relay it over to Diverse.

I've researched the board and have read mixed reviews about how to go about submitting a referral. Should I have my connection do a direct phone call? A submission? Or should I submit it myself and make note of the referral?

Why not have your friend walk your stuff in and vouch for you.

My referral really pulled through for me. She's sending the referral directly through email and is going to follow up with a phone call about the whole situation. It's wonderful being able to have this extra hand to offer some help.

ckoa - didnt you say that your referral is calling them (as well as emailing)? Before they hung up, I'm sure the rep said what you should do next. Just ask your friend what happened.

I'd say try to hold off in general until you've gotten some word that your referral connected with the agent. Im not saying that you have to wait for an answer, but my feeling is that if you happen to reach out to the rep before they actually got the message, then they might ignore you and forget about you or push it off.

If you know they've connected already, then it will be alot smoother when you try to connect with the rep.
