Now that SAG has changed their rules and allows SAG Eligible actors to work there second union job without having actually paid or joined SAG officially (they have 30 days) is there still a stigma on being SAG Eligible with TV casting directors. Are they now more open to seeing SAG eligible actors in TV?

I thought this "rule" has been around forever-the whole taft-hartley act. At any rate, why would there be a "stigma" to being SAG-E? It's certainly better than being non-union because then CD wouldn't have to T-H you. You would just have to go pay if you got the job. I suppose some CDs would worry that you wouldn't be able to pay, but I doubt it.

Before if you were SAG-e you would have to pay and join SAG *BEFORE* you worked your second job. That is not the case anymore. You can actually work you second job without having paid. You just have to promise to pay or get set up on a payment plan within 30 days of working your second job. In the past you could not work your second job until you paid in *FULL* Pretty cool huh!

So in still asking this question, do Casting Directors look at a SAG=Eligible person the same as a SAG person? Are they worried you won't pay?

From what I have heard, just put SAG on your resume, forget the -e. Everyone sems to be doing that. Then if you get the job hurry up and go pay.

At a SAG audition, NEVER let them know that you're SAG eligible. Just put SAG on your resume. You can think of it this way, you're already in the Union, but you're just slacking on dues worth $2400. Of course when you do book the job, make sure you have that amount to make a quick payment. This is the same deal for Sag Financial Core. You NEVER list that because it's controversial. Just put SAG when auditioning for a SAG project.

For non-union or Fi-Core, you put SAG Eligible. SAG-E looks impressive at non-union auditions because you normally have to earn the right to be SAG-E.
