We are three young actresses looking to put up a play...We have the money but can't seem to find the right play....
Where can I find playwrights? Who can I ask for help with finding a play right for me?
Thank you

You need to find a playwrights collective where they have readings on plays in progress. We have two up in Putnam that we are active with and do get actors from the city that participate.
Karen's After Dark in Brewster and Aery Theatre Company in Garrison.
Try finding some in the city and get involved.

I suggest using something in the public domain like Shakespeare. If you "put up" any modern play, (especially if you're charging admission) you're going to have to pay a large sum of money to the playwright.
