Are any of you from Boston? Where do you find work/ information about castings? I know that one should pay attention to casting calls from Boston Casting, CP Casting and local theaters but there just don't seem to be many castings. Is there actually a fair number of acting opportunities in the area or does an aspiring actor really need to move to New York or L.A.?

I was in Boston this past winter... BURR-R-R-R-R. It was colder than here!

Since you're so close, why not try New York?

Most serious theatrical productions in Boston hold auditions in New York. I know a friend of mine (lives in NY) recently got cast in a show up in Boston, and I'm pretty sure he got the audition in NY.

Also I don't much care for the practice but if you take classes at CP it highly increases the chanches of bring called in when they have something good.
