Hooeee! Totally forgot to check back here after I posted the initial link. Who'd have thought that Lee Brones himself - oh, forgivez moi, one of his rare supporters would chime in?
Or does anyone seriously believe "Hal" is an actor who just happened to audition for Lee Brones, and just happens to know some actresses who did, and just... well, has nothing to do with him otherwise? Oh no.
It's always fun after a number of people have given reports about, say, an agency that tries to get its clients to go to a specific photographer and then, yep, sure as rain, along comes a poster, never before seen in these parts to say how unfair everybody's being to this WONDERFUL guy.
Oh yeah. Anonymous defenders just pop up like mushrooms.
Otherwise, just for fun, let's look at what academics call "the internal evidence":
- "I believe you must have misunderstood him" - which "you" is in question here? I said nothing about him myself, just posted a link to a thread with a NUMBER of posters commenting about him.
- "He maintains an office in his home" - he can maintain an office in his outhouse, so long as he holds auditions in a public place.
- "Then it will go to SAG" - a bit late, no, given the fact that he's already advertised the film as SAG (did he not know how easy that was to check?) (Never mind that SAG would seriously frown on auditions at his home or "Test shots" for nudity.)
- "a couple of major stars are going to do it" - anonymous stars, it appears (who have not previously been mentioned in any casting call).
Meanwhile, this entertaining little item was posted before I got in contact with someone at SAG about the rather free use of the union's name; I would imagine Lee Brones has had somewhat more direct word from the union about what is and isn't acceptable (though I have not myself heard further word.)
