I just “signed” with Diverse Talent Group. I met with them and they loved me for their commercial department. So they extended an offer and I accepted. However, I never signed anything. Just words were exchanged. It’s been 2 weeks now and I have not yet gotten anything. She just called me once and asked if I surfed and I said no and that was that. Then, I had a meeting wit Coralie Jr. Agency today. First off, does anyone know anything about them? I can’t seem to find any info on them at all. S. Edward was intense to say the least. He made me do a monologue and was very critical. However, ended up offering to represent me anyway (not gonna lie, that came as a shock) He is offering me a year long contract for both commercial and theatrical representation. I am new to this and I have many questions. So, here are my concerns and questions:
What do I do about Diverse? Is 2 weeks long enough to judge them even though I have gotten nothing. How do I know the agent is really doing her job and is looking for work?
Is Coralie legitimate? I know they are SAG franchised but how do I know that they are not a “scam”
Can I have 2 commercial agents?
If I were to sign a year long contract, then what happens? What if it’s not working out later on? Can I get out of it?
Should I tell Diverse or Coralie about one or the other? Or since it was just a verbal agreement with Diverse, I can still sign with Coralie without them knowing? Any legal troubles I can get myself into with all this that I need to know of?
Sorry for asking so many questions. I am just soo lost and I only have a few days b4 I have to answer to Coralie. PLEASE HELP!!!
