The other night I had a dream that I was at an audition, in the waiting room, and I was chewing a monster piece of bubble gum. I was just settling in and looking for my sides in my bag which was overstuffed, as usual. Can't find the sides. My name is called, I attempt to remove this gargantuan piece of gum and cannot! I can't even get my fingers around it, it's so big. I have this dream on a semi-regular basis, especially before a big audition.

I also dream that I"m getting fired from a job I already have or (and these are the WORST of all) I dream that I've BOOKED a big job that, in my waking life, I have lost. Those hurt the worst. I wake up, all glowy and proud of myself and then, bam! I wake up for real. Frowner

Anybody else have crazy dreams when you're stressed out about a job or an audition?

Well, I had a dream last night, but it's more of a embarrasment than a nightmare.

In my dream, I was preparing to do my monologue at a Film audition. For some reason, I started to introduce a monologue that I retired a year ago. (Yes. I try to use different monologues every year, so I have something new to work on)
After 3 lines, I started to mess up my words and got everything mixed up. I stopped and told the casting director "Ops. Wait. Sorry, this is not the monologue I want to perform...."

Then I woke up. And the first thing that came in my mind was... "That was so unprofessional."

I swear, I will never let that dream become reality.

Yes. recurring.

I am on stage and I don't know what show. I don't know my lines. I usually have it a few weeks after I close a big role.

I have accepted this as my body's way of letting go of the role.

Weird.

I normally get visions that would later happen in reality, NO LIE; but I hope this one was a dream because I CURSED OUT a top Casting Agent who looked exactly like Leona Hemsley. She wore a white suit jacket and dark shades looking a cross between Hemsley and Liberache. I think she told me I would never make it and I've must've been in a bad mood because I chewed her out as she threw my pic in the garbage. The dream was two days ago and it felt real.

I am a parent of a child actor. I dream that my child is cast as a lead in a huge stage show... then I completely forget to drive her to the opening show... don't even realize it until the next day... when I then learn that she was immediately replaced by the understudy.

I'm also a parent of a child actor. I dream that he is cast in the lead of two movies and a play that end up scheduled for the same time. Oh wait, this isn't a dream.....

Mine's kind of like Roz's.

I always dream about shows I did a year or two ago, or even longer, and I dream that I've been called up by the director or theatre and have to go on that night.

Sometimes I have to go on in my original role, sometimes other people's roles, and sometimes I have to put on the whole show by myself.

This also happens once in a while with shows I've seen... not even ones I've been in.

Dreams are so funky.
