It seems like there are way, way more scripted shows coming to the fall schedule. Is that wishful thinking on my part or is it true!?! Please let it be true....

I'm praying it's true, and a few more filming in NYC would be nice. Though that recent NY Times article made me think about a 'Survivor:NYC' season with a group of actors and musicians. I think Roz offered the first Challenge, you have a subway token and a pair of roller skates. First one to the audition site wins a dirty water hot dog.

Wait, does anyone else remember subway tokens or did I just date myself again?

Best regards,
Joe

Second Banana,

You have a career in comedy surely! That is sooo funny. I have a photo somewhere of me in rollerblades back in the token days. I was kinda cute if I say so myself. But I digress.

The second challenge comes from my life too...your apartment burns down and you have to find a place to stay! Go!

Or here's another one from real life of ROZ.

Your lover kicks you out! Find a place to live...GO!

Oh I could go on and on but it's making me depressed. Thank God for growing up!!

I hope every year that the so-called "reality" tv programs will end but they don't. None of it is reality, it's just unscripted with people playing for the cameras. A prime example of this would be The Apprentice...

Season 1 of The Apprentice was awesome. You couldn't have gotten better than that. Then, season 2 and season 3 where EVERYONE is doing/saying whatever they're doing/saying for the camera. There was not even a touch of "reality" left to the show.

Survivor? PUHLEESEE!! That's not "surviving". I say drop them out of a plane onto an island, come back in 6 months and see who's still left. That person wins the million.

I heard about some new one but I don't know if it ever aired. It was something like "Man Band"--- where they take past Boy Band members and are trying to form a Man Band. Absolutely absurd if you ask me.

And let's not forget "The 2 Corys".... as if anyone CARES about them!!

Many are trying to copy "The Osbournes", which will never happen. Then you have all those ridiculous chef shows and dance competitions.

I think there's some kind of desperation to make the be all/end all reality show, but it's never going to happen.

Does anyone remember the ORIGINAL reality show --- back in the 70s I think? It was called something like "An American Family" and it aired on PBS and it was basically the life in a typical American family. Funny how everyone seems to forget that and considers "Real World" to be the "world's first reality show".

The worst thing about reality shows, though, is that they're taking away from actors. The more reality shows, the less work for actors and that sucks. I'm not an actor (my daughter is), but I do feel for the actors out there struggling everyday to make it while these reality tv shows are bombarding the airwaves!

Yeah Diane,

There's a lot of realtiy. Those people on the shows are actors, if not at first they are by the end of the season. Weird. Like the girl LC or Lauren somebody who was on a rich kid teen reality show on MTV is now a bonified celebrity.

Showbusiness is as fickle as the American it seeks to entertain and make money from. And we all want to be a part of it! Insane. Or maybe you say we want to do art. Welcome to poverity!!
Showbusiness is the cruelest lover I have ever had. No matter how many times he beats me. I take him back. EVERYTIME. I have even quit a few times. Once I had the guts to tell my agent...a few hours later I found out I had booked a Law and Order. And I was in love with it all again.

WHY WHY WHY do we do it?

I too hope there will be more opportunities for us actors. I hope they do less reality shows. But I will be there for my lover, showbusiness, no matter what.
