Hey guys,
I've re-entered the lovely hunt for NYC housing again. Is anyone looking for a roommate/renting at the moment, or know of someone that is? I'm trying to stay in Manhattan. My price range is $500 to $1200. It be great to have my own place, studio, 1 br. exc, or share w/ a roommate. Let me know if you hear of anything. I'm also looking in Brooklyn. I can move in Jan. 1.

Thanks!
Grace

Hi Learner,
As far as Manhattan goes it's best to either find a sublet, or 1 br./2br. flex, if you want a 2 br. Up in Harlem/East Harlem and parts of Morningside are afforadable, but then you just have the area to deal with. Otherwise look in Brookyln. It's kind of a hit or miss, you have to really look around. I've been subletting a 1br. in a 2br. apt. in the hells kitchen area for the past several months and the rents not cheap(1400 per month), but the area is fantastic. So its kind of a tose up, good area high rent, not so good area low rent. Hope this helps.
Good luckSmiler

Oh, my - how do you commute to the Manhattan from Brooklyn?
I spend one week in NY in summer - stayed with my mom in Queens. It's only 30 min drive from her place to Manhattan. I always stayed with her overnight on weekend but did not realize that during week it's 2 hours to and 2 hours from. I was so exhausted by the end of week...
