Hey everyone!
I haven't been on here in a while but I missed everyones good advice.
Well I went into my colleges last audition with a monolouge from antigone (an ill-prepared one I might add, I memorized very very last minuet)
but imagine my surprise when I recieved a huge role in our next production of Oedipus the king!
I'm the chorus leader!
Its very exciting. It includes dancing, singing, giving big choral speeches with the rest of the chorus, as well as a hefty handful of my own individual lines!
I'm so stoked and I just wanted to share the great news with everyone, and to ask for any advice you can give.
The specifics I think I'll need help with are what is a good way to learn to keep lines in sync with other actors. There are about ten total chorus members (I'm the only one who interacts with the speaking roles

)and I'm anticipating some difficulties keeping the huge monolouges all together.
And I know its brief but in the last play "Lysistrata" that we did I had a total of like 8 lines. I feel very blessed to have earned the part I have in this play but its pretty ambitious and I could use the support of a good community of actors! This is my chance to really put an impression in the directors head, and since I'm planning on participating in 4 more productions at least while I'm at this school, I want to put a good vibe and some good karma out there.
Well wish me luck...
Turn out the lights and it's all the same darkness, right?
