Hi,

I am the former owner/creator of a successful web-business that was intricate in the performing arts web scene for almost 5 years. We sold the business 2 years ago and the new owner did nothing with it and it recently folded.

I have held on and nurtured my contact email list during that time and it is now over 10,000 Active emails all somehow related to the NYC entertainment community.

I want to create a new, legitimate, exciting business but a great idea is just out of my fingertips. If there are any entrepenuers who have some cool ideas or a business that will enhance actors lives (yet be profitable) send me an email and we can discuss off-line about a possible business relationship.

I also want to be very clear, profitability is key. A great idea that helps actors but makes no revenue is certainly noble but on the business end is not what I am looking for.

Cheers,

Dave

As someone who serves the needs of actors daily through my business I suggest making sure that your business is not based on what you will earn from actors. Try to keep your fingers out of the actors pockets. As a customer base I think actor's finances are very unpredictable. I am a working actor as well by the way. Our lives and finances are pretty much feast or family. Check out the unions for stats on what an expected income is for an actors. Most have days jobs to support their artistic habit. So serve actors if you have the heart to do it. But make money off of advertisers or in some other way.

That's my two cents. And that's about all it's worth too.

Best of luck.

Do keep us posted.

Thanks Roz,

I am well aware of Actor's finances and the business model does not neccesarily have to be based on Actors spending anything.

I have a ton of experience here and I know there must be enormous value for an Actor to spend anything. Advertising is the way to go, just trying to find someone to bounce some ideas off of and get some in return.

Great. After having been in this business for over 20 years, I am a little sensitive. Forgive me if I sound paranoid.

Sorry.

Carry on.
