Any quick tips on how to keep concentrated? Whenever I do a monologue,I can see who I'm talking to, but only in glimpses at a time it seems. Do you know what I mean? I see the person there, and then he or she disappears it seems like...Or details in a room disappear.

I know this helps with being intimate and a feeling of security in a scene, so I'd really like some tips! Thanks everyone!

Use Sense memory to create who you are talking to, maybe ask 10-20 sensory questions.

Also, throughout the monologue, between your lines, ask yourself silently, how do I feel? Don't answer it, feel it. You might feel sad, or angry. Or you might feel longing and lonely "I miss my friend." Then the line, then ask yourself how you feel again, then the line, then "I miss seeing you." Whatever you feel, that's just an example. Stay connected to your choice, if you start to lose it, reinvest.

I really recommend doing non-acting things to develop focus and concentration. Martial arts is VERY good for this stuff. Also yoga and meditation.

Many times, we actors only work on our acting. There are many other skills that, if developed, will have a huge impact on your acting. Just my opinion.

I did the acting thing once upon a time, and I found that the best thing to do is REALLY, REALLY know your lines. If you know your lines 100%, the rest will fall into place and the emotions that come along with it will be more genuine.

Thanks everyone!

I think what I kept doing with my imagination that made it feel like I wasn't concentrating was that I would look at the imaginary setting/person/object in a third person point of view. I would see me as the character looking at it. I now know that it helps me to see the thing in first person to really relate to it. Y'know?
