I use ical to track EVERYTHING. At the end of the month I can use the items in the calendar and enter it into bento to know exactly how much money I am making doing what as I do many things, this helps me know where to put my efforts. I act, coach, edit, and direct. Crazy I know. But worth it.
I have the iPod touch, haven't upgraded to the iPhone yet but i love the maps, calendars, and of course the ability to download the pod casts all in one simple place and quick.
Dreams will remain dreams if you continue to sleep
It's not a must-have (I consider it a must have though for me personally), but I would highly recommend buying either or. It's so helpful, I use it for a radio, and I use it for youtube videos lol.
I have the iPod touch. I like iCalendar (so great) and of course, email. I also like that I can submit to AA notices AND Nycastings. I like my games, too. Tap Tap Revenge, anyone?
I also use craigslist, dictionaire (thats how they spell it), contacts, and notes.
I eventually will get an iPhone but for now, this is good.

I *love* my iPhone. I have Backstage.com on my home screen. Wish there was an app for it.
By far the most useful app for me (as a recent NYC transplant) is HopStop. Really great for navigating the subway, and totally free. (Also use the website, but the app is better for on the go!)
As far as just random fun, Distant Shore is the best 99 cents I've ever spent.

I've been trying to avoid it (it also helps that I'm extremely limited budgetwise currently) but eventually I will get a blackberry. I've got Verizon. I notice the faster you respond to a job post, the better chances you may have in getting it, esp. for background work.
IPhone is cute, but I want to avoid distractions such as game apps. It's bad enough I'm on my computer too much as it is.
Most casting sites are sophisticated enough for online submissions. Such as castingnetworks (nycasting) and NYCastings.com -- you can set up your phone and apply for immediate email alerts to be sent to your phone to submit through there.
