Wow, I'm surprised that no one else went to Stonestreet. I'm new on this site so hopefully I'm doing this right.
I went to Strasberg through Tisch and then finished at Stonestreet. I felt that it was an invaluable experience. You not only take film classes but sitcom class, soap opera class, commercial copy class, and more. The staff is amazing. All of the teachers have a ton of experience in the industry. The Londras, Angela Pietropino, etc. I don't know how it works with non-tisch actors but we also met with agents and casting directors once or twice a week and had the opportunity to audition for them. Also, about twice a year they have someone come in and talk to all of the students. When I was there it was Susan Sarandon. She was great and sat with us and answered all of our questions, etc.
So in short: it is a great place to learn a lot about on-camera work of every type quickly and learn from a really supportive and talented staff.
Hope this helps!!

TallyTal is absolutely right. I am an NYU alum, and did my primary study at Atlantic Theatre Company (HIGHLY recommended), and a summer semster at Stonesteet. It's been almost five years, but I still look back on that summer with such fondness. All day, film centric, acting training; a dream. Soaps, three camera shooting, auditioning, commercials, monologue work, in house short film making, and more. And for the absolute beginner, they take headshots for industry day use, which was once a week when I attended; each Friday major agents and managers popped in to audition us. And this wasn't just a formality either, because several of us were signed during our short summer term. Best yet, the instructers are knowledgeble, working, down to Earth, and genuinely kind. As you can see I could rave on and on, but don't let the fact that it's not on everyone's lips desuade you from considering it. Like most of the NYU studios, it's an independent organization that has a non-Tisch program as well.
