Hey Everyone-
So,I would like to say that I am proud to be an ambitious,charismatic and aggresive character actor in nyc. With that being said, I don't know of many networking events in nyc. I am born and raised here,but still dont know about many of the social networking events. Most of the networking events are stuff like at actors connection and stuff of that nature. I have thrown some networking events,but i would love to know where others go. I have heard that the manhattan monolouge slam is fun,but never been. If anyone can please let me know of an acting teacher that has an event,a production company, casting etc. Lets make the networking happen people. Oh and drinks as well as networking, they go hand in hand I think

I did some networking events before,but those take lots of work.lol. If you want, I love to bake and perhaps we could do a get together of sorts this weekend. Please,let me know if this sounds good to anyone. Also,I am interested in doing something xmas eve.

Then there's ActorFest. It just happened in November.

So....as far as networking events, there are some big ones. Networking tends to also happen on sets, or going to acting classes or one of those "meet the casting agent" things that pop here all the time. People can then exchange information.

What I do notice though, is people can be really hesitant about giving any information that they found on their own or were given by a prior actor, because they may not want to give an edge to another actor. There's a "I had to work to get this information, you should get it on your own" mentality that reeks but is understandable as you gain more of your own experience. There are giving souls, but be prepared to also meet those who will give you outdated or well known information in exchange for a juicy not well known nugget you may possess.
