So, I mostly stepped away from posting on the BS Messageboard when things started to get out of control. But, I would still check in on every once in a while.
One day about a month ago, I decided to download the Everything Acting Podcasts to my Nano.
I have to tell you, I LOVE THEM. They do for me what this whole messageboad hasn't been able to do in a very long time.
I'm up to Podcast #30...I generally listen to them heading in and out of NYC.
It's becoming a morning ritual that gets me pumped for the day ahead of me.
When I listen to an episode at the end of the day when I'm on the bus heading home, it's a great "actor's nightcap" that allows me to wind down and still focus on the biz.
Just had to share!

I had also stopped visiting the boards due to some of the fighting that went on here. It just wasn't a positive thing anymore. So, needless to say, I'm quite lost. What's a podcast? How do I download it? A little inspiration and positivity never hurt anyone.

Yes! I agree on the podcasts being great. I was also late to game because I didn't really know what a podcast was, but one day I was fiddling around in iTunes and downloaded all of them. I've listened to every one of them and look forward to the next.
If you don't use iTunes, you can go to EverythingActingPodcast.com and click on all the pictures to download or listen through our player bu clicking the "Listen Now" button. Enjoy!
Thanks, for passing on the info, Darbi. I haven't a clue....My boyfriend got the podcast onto my iTunes...
BTW, my only gripe about the podcast is that anytime the music comes on its so much louder than when you guys are talking. Are you trying to make us all hearing impaired actors?

Audio techies we are not. BUT we are trying to make it better each time. We do produce the podcast on our own dime, so we do our own techie work. It's challenging. Please keep listening. We think the info out weighs the audio f-ups.
I am changing software and hope to have more even audio in the interviews. I won't give up making it better as long as you guys keep listening. The music is always goign to sound better as it was produced in a studio with audio pros at the controls I am sure.
I love the podcast and I've really become addicted to it.
Believe me, I don't hold any techie glitches against you guys...Honestly, I expected someone on the messageboard to say, "Lisa, you dork, you need to reset the volume on your iPod"...or something like that!

I used to do the same thing, listening to the podcasts during the commute into the city and the on the subway, but I gave up. Too many steel drums and BAD singers interrupting the podcasts. Or maybe I just need new earphones.
Gave up listening while transporting self, not the podcasts.

I'm telling you...the $20 Phillips earbuds that I got at CVS have made all the difference in the world for me. I used to neve rbe able to hear podcasts (and not just our shoestring budget show, but shows like Bill Maher and NPR) on the subway, but now I hear everything perfectly and don't even have the volume all the way up.
But I'm totally taking the music feedback to heart and will do my best to even out the levels. It's another (kind of time-consuming) step to compress all the audio from the many sources we get content from, but I'll give it a whirl and hope that it makes a difference.
Thanks for being patient as we learn the engineering part.
Thanks for making such a great podcast. I was a first time listener and downloaded the Chris Macke headshot episode. Wow, I learned sooooo much! Thanks!!!

Well, the good news is that we have a BUNCH of interviews stockpiled and Roz and I are so busy we're having a hard time getting our schedules lined up to record together, so we'll probably be posting a bunch of "interview-only" episodes in the next few weeks. Lots of good stuff!
