...She spoke to me when I watched THE ACTORS STUDIO.
She said that a hard working actor is always prepared by being professional, luck and studying, taking courses and classes, she continues to do so and boosted up Ivana Chubbuck or whatever her name is.
Here I am, just finished post production on my feature, on to film another short film written by myself, completed a play, been acting for 15 years and I haven't booked jack SQUAT this year as an actor.
I'm taking my ass back to acting school. Any suggestions? and dont be a smart ass about it, Im not a new jack, been around the block for a while, its just that the world doesn't know it yet.
I think I wanna do private coaching than a class. holla back y'all.
Wow. Damian. You wanna go back to school. You do seem like such a big time pro to me. Go where the pros go. I am allowed to specifically suggest teachers on this board but I do know where the pros go. I would be happy to give info about it offline.
Another opportunity is the companies formed by professionals for professionals. These are theatre where you can work on stuff for free and get feedback from professional directors and actors your respect.
Did you get many opportunities to audition for projects this year.
Keep me updated. And contact me offline if you want more info.
I have been out of class for a while and would love to start working with great coaches too. I'm getting decent auditions, but want to improve my callback rate.
Does your knowledge of coaches extend to LA?
Many thanks!

The past few months I decided to put all of my efforts back into acting. I was going a little off on a tangent the past few years with other things (including writing and directing) and I realized that I hadn't done much this year at all.
In August I went back to the gym and started adding 20 pounds of muscle. Then I picked the brain of a few people who had actual professional credits on their resume. But it wasn't until a friend of mine in the music business decided he wanted to try his hand in the acting field that I started to fully feel rejuvenated. I realized that my abilities were very high and getting that itch of determination back made me a dangerous person. Why, because I not only feel confident but I have that renewed spark and excitement that I haven't felt since the first day I stepped into Hollywood a few years back.
Since then I began taking classes again, putting myself in front of the CDs who I want to know that I exist. And in the past week I scored a line in a huge Paramount feature film.
Now the past 4 1/2 years of hustling and learning have finally paid off and I am 10 times more exited to be able to contact agents and CDs telling them of my recent credit and seeing what happens from here on out.
Not to mention after I did the line on the film the 1st AD personally jotted down my contact information and said he may have another line for me in the next week or so.
It's amazing how this business works. One day you are riding the fence wondering if this is truly your calling and the next moment you are on cloud 9 telling everyone that you are finally a professional.
