The Close Encounters scene someone mentioned above is really, really tough to beat!!

Here's a few more:

The diner scene in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Insanity at its best!

The very awkward diner scene in "Buffalo 66." Its mesmorizing!

The Skesis diner in "The Dark Crystal"...where one of them chases that little mouselike critter across the table!

The Eel/Snake/Monkeybrains diner in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom".

The villians invading the home during diner and pretending to be Marc Wahlberg's friends in "The Big Hit". The scene ends with Eliott Gould puking inciting a gunfight!!!!

The "Day-Oh" scene in "Beetlejuice".

Speaking of eating scenes: how about "Night of the Living Dead?" Is anyone who has seen those likely to forget them?

LADY AND THE TRAMP is the best eating scene of all-time. Everyone remembers the spaghetti and meatballs.

Harlem hippo, you get a million cool points for bringing up the dark crystal! mmmmhmm Gelfling mmmmm.

I also like the earlier reference someone made about License to Drive, the ketchup on the mashed potatoes, mmmm.

Here's a few more fun ones:

Funny Farm: Chevy Chase eats the famous "goat balls"
A christmas story, When ralphie's little brother won't eat his meatloaf..."meatloaf, meatloaf, double Beatloaf, I hate meatloaf!" And in the same film, their christmas dinner at the chinese restuarant.
The lost boys..."How are the Maggots Michael?"

Like Water for Chocolate - when the main female character prepares quails in rose petal sauce and raises people's temperatures with that and the wedding feast scene where everyone who ate was randy -- but the wedding cake made everyone sad and sick -- because she had let her tears fall into the batter by mistake!

9 1/2 weeks, the refrigerator scene. Awesome!

Eat Drink Man Woman -- the beginning sequence of the master cook preparing and making a huge dinner for his small family. the preparation and those expert hands flying make my mouth water EVERY time.
